I’ve been holding the position as Associated Professor at Ege University, Department of Field Crops in Agriculture Faculty since 2014. I held a PhD. in crop physiology at the agronomy section of the same department in 2011. In 2008 and 2009 I worked as visiting scientist in Prof. F. Asch’s group at the University of Hohenheim, Institute of Crop Water Stress Management in Tropics and Subtropics during my PhD. Before, I joined research activities of Dr. H. Brück at the Kiel University, Institute of Plant Nutrition and Soil Sciences during 2005 and 2006. During and after my PhD, I several time involved laboratory studies on enzyme and secondary metabolite analyses with Prof. A. Edreva’s group at Bulgarian Academy of Science (Please visit about section for the details).
My research focuses on crop production under abiotic stress conditions and physiological responses of several crops to drought, salinity and other environmental factors. In the frame of my research activities I mainly work with wheat and cotton. I also study on effects of environmental factors on secondary metabolite production of several medicinal and aromatic plants. Recently my research group started to focus on climate change effects on crop production as well as new farming systems for the future.

Scientific consensus: Earth's climate is warming
Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities. more...
